Michael Setaro Appointed as Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support at The Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support at Southern Westchester BOCES

 The Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support (PLCS) at Southern Westchester BOCES is pleased to introduce Michael Setaro as Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support. As a teacher and school leader, Mike brings  20+ years of field experience including deep expertise in special education, social studies, intensive reading and is keenly interested in the relationship between educator learning and student success.

In his first year, Mike’s work will focus on four key areas: Leading Leaders, the Center’s new approach to NYSED’s Initial/Recert program for Lead Evaluators, leveraging Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS/MTSSi) and using data to enhance teaching and learning, and co-leading the Center’s RECOVS grant which focuses on creating school environments that promote wellness and mental health. 

Reflecting on his new position, Setaro shared, "I am truly honored to serve this region and draw upon my experience in school leadership to assist my fellow educators. I look forward to collaborating with educators, administrators, and community partners to create opportunities that ensure every student in our region has access to equitable, high-quality education.”

Setaro holds New York State School Building Leader and School District Leader certifications and is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Instructional Leadership at Western Connecticut State University.
