Catherine Graybosch Appointed Supervisor of the School Library System at Southern Westchester BOCES

Catherine GrayboschThe Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support (PLCS) at Southern Westchester BOCES is excited to announce the appointment of Catherine Graybosch as the new Supervisor of the School Library System. Catherine brings a wealth of experience as an educator and leader, having served as a Library Media Specialist and Department Head of Media and Information Technology at Great Neck Public Schools. Most recently, she held roles as a Staff Developer, District Curriculum Integration Leader, and Assistant Principal at Katonah-Lewisboro School District. Her commitment to fostering inquiry-based learning, integrating technology, and supporting educator development makes her a valuable addition to our team.

In her new role, Catherine will: coach and provide professional learning and strategic support to librarians and teachers throughout the SWBOCES region;  foster partnerships between librarians and classroom teachers to enhance interdisciplinary learning and create inclusive, student-centered environments;  create/curate inquiry-based teaching, integrate learning technologies, and embed culturally responsive practices into school library services; establish relationships with authors and artists to build the Arts in Education (AIE) Program; lead efforts to provide high-quality resources, promote equity in library programming, and lead professional learning opportunities for school librarians and educators; manage and grow the School Library System’s $1.8 million annual operating budget and implement the New York State approved Five-Year Plan of Service.

“We are thrilled to welcome Catherine Graybosch to our team,” said Dr. Mary Elizabeth Wilson, Senior Director of the Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support. “Catherine’s prior professional experience –both broad and specific, combined with innovative approaches to teaching and learning, passion for adult and student learning, and expertise in professional learning make her ideally suited to lead our School Library System.”

Libraries are the heart of our schools, and I am eager to collaborate with educators, librarians, and students to foster innovation, access, and a love of learning,” said Graybosch. “I look forward to supporting and strengthening our school library programs, advocating for the resources they need, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to explore, grow, and succeed.”

Graybosch holds a Master of Arts in Library and Information Sciences from Long Island University and an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Prior to that she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Concordia College,
