Maisha Campbell, RECOVS Mental Health Resource Specialist
A dedicated educational leader and licensed social worker, Campbell serves as a Mental Health Resource Specialist at the Center for Professional Learning & Curriculum Support (PLCS) at Southern Westchester BOCES. Passionate about creating supportive learning environments, Campbell believes in the synergy between strong instructional practices and a nurturing school culture. In her role, funded by the New York State Learning Loss Recovery from COVID School Program (RECOVS) Grant, Campbell applies her expertise to provide valuable mental health resources and support, contributing to the overall well-being and success of students and educators.
Throughout her career, Campbell has focused on improving educational environments and supporting students through a collaborative, data-informed approach. In her previous role as a summer school Assistant Principal, she managed summer school programs, addressed student behavioral and social-emotional needs, and revised curricula to improve academic outcomes. Her efforts contributed to a positive school climate and notable student progress. As a School Social Worker, Campbell provided essential counseling services, developed professional development programs, and implemented safety protocols. Her background also includes roles in child and family services, where she facilitated intervention conferences and coordinated community resources.
Campbell holds a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in School Building Leadership from St. John’s University and a Master’s in Social Work from New York University.
