In these asynchronous learning activities, participants will explore Read Alouds, cultivating identity, and connect to multiple areas of the Big 6 literacy competencies as highlighted in the NYSED Literacy Brief.

Course Objective: As New York State continues to transform teaching and learning across all learning environments and utilize tech tools to support learning, we strive to integrate literacy and culturally relevant teaching and learning across learning environments. The three big ideas that will guide these courses include:

• Utilizing the NYSED CRSEF as both a Lense and a Vehicle for learning
• Selecting culturally relevant materials
• Connecting learning to the big 6 literacy skills and competencies as outlined by the NYSED literacy briefs.

Additionally, we will consider ways to be agents of their own learning and empower student choice and voice.
