Discover, Share, and Learn: SWBOCES Library Intervisitations 2025–26

The School Library System at SWBOCES is excited to announce a year of library intervisitations throughout the 2025–26 school year! This initiative is all about building a collaborative professional community across our region, giving librarians and administrators meaningful opportunities to learn from one another.

Why Intervisitations Matter
Opening your library to colleagues creates a space for observation, dialogue, and idea-sharing. From instructional strategies and collection development to technology integration and resource management, intervisitations are designed to highlight effective practices that strengthen library services for students.

How It Works
Each visit provides a structured setting where schools and districts can showcase their library programs in action. Hosts highlight the aspects of their programs they are most proud of, while visiting librarians and administrators gain inspiration and practical ideas to bring back to their own schools. Over the course of the year, these intervisitations will form a sequence of professional learning experiences celebrating the diversity and innovation of school libraries across Southern Westchester.

How to Get Involved
Participation is open to both host districts and visiting librarians/administrators. Interested?

  • What you’d like to showcase if you host a visit

  • What you hope to learn from others

We’ve already heard from many librarians eager to visit their peers’ libraries. To make this initiative a success, we are looking for additional host districts willing to open their doors. Sharing your program is a wonderful way to spark new ideas, showcase your work, and contribute to the growth of library programs across the region. Please complete this survey. if you are interested in either hosting or participating for the 2025–26 school year. Your responses will help us plan meaningful, relevant visits for all.
