PLCS Insights: Inspired, Connected, and Ready to Grow
"Beyond the sessions, one of the greatest benefits was connecting with fellow librarians from across the region. Whether during a breakout group or hallway conversation,, these moments reminded us of the power of community and shared learning."
Inspired, Connected, and Ready to Grow - Catherine Graybosch’s take-aways from the 2025 SLS Annual Conference
I’m still buzzing from the energy of the SLS Annual Joint Conference at Southern Westchester BOCES on March 28th! It was an inspiring day of collaboration, and meaningful professional growth. Our keynote speakers offered valuable insights, especially on AI and book challenges–topics highly relevant to today’s library landscape. Breakout sessions were equally impactful, covering the future of libraries, literary engagement, media literacy and more. It was especially exciting to see so many librarians presenting and sharing their expertise.
Beyond the sessions, one of the greatest benefits was connecting with fellow librarians from across the region. Whether during a breakout group or hallway conversation, these moments reminded us of the power of community and shared learning. Don’t let your learning stay at the conference! I look forward to hearing what you’ve implemented and what you’re eager to explore next. Putting new knowledge into practice–and taking risks–is how we grow.
Exciting news–next year’s conference date is set! The 2026 Annual Joint SLS Conference will take place on April 17th. Stay tuned for more details on the theme, breakout sessions, and keynote speakers.
A big thank you to my BOCES colleagues who helped plan the day and make it such a huge success!
Let’s keep sharing and growing as we teach, lead and learn—together.
