We  work directly with districts to handle matters of compliance with regulatory requirements and SAVE legislation.

    Building Leadership Capacity - Initial Training for Evaluators of Teachers

    This course provides the foundational training for supervisors who will be observing teachers and/or serving as Lead Evaluators. The structure of this workshop assists individuals in developing a functional understanding of APPR components and guidelines, while focusing on evidence-based observation. Participants will engage in a calibration activity and examine their own personal biases in order to promote equity in the process. This course addresses New York State's nine requirements for lead evaluator training and can be used as evidence for certification as Lead Evaluators, Peer Evaluators, and Independent Evaluators.

    Physical Education PLCs & Leadership PE/HE CONSORTIUM

    Physical Educators Teacher Leaders are essential to help a department grow and learn as professionals.

    This workshop will focus on models of leadership to drive physical education department leaders to become more than just a sounding board. The participants will engage in a variety of activities that include:

    • Curriculum round tables

    • Protocols for presenting

    • Protocols for discussions

    • 21st-century decision-making guidance for improved leadership

    The Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) will help guide mastery learning and grading, to accomplish a school-wide approach. Participants will develop PLCs to pilot lessons, assessments, and grading to improve instruction at their site by working with people across the county.

    The morning portion of the program will focus on:

    • Norms of collaboration

    • What is a PLC

    • How to become a mastery learning teacher and how does that lead to grades

    By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clear mentorship approach, a group of similar-minded cohort participants to help facilitate growth, and a clear vision for where their department will go.

    Curricular Mapping the New PE Standards PE/HE CONSORTIUM

    Often teachers have lessons, assessments, and maps that are outdated and underused. The goal of this workshop is to map standards (psychomotor, cognitive, and affective) in a meaningful way to meet the needs of our changing student population. ELL, Autism, and at-risk youth will be addressed as well as traditional monocultural physical education settings.

    By the conclusion of the workshop, teachers will have tangible products to use for the current school year. The created maps will align with proficiency scales that are standard-based and drive both assessment and instruction.

    Elementary Literacy Study Group: Bringing NYSED's Literacy Initiative and SOR into Practice

    Between NYSED launching its Literacy Initiative and publishing seven Literacy Briefs in January and ongoing attention to the Science of Reading and meeting students' academic needs, this study group will provide a recurring opportunity to convene with colleagues to collaborate around leading for literacy and the systemic and classroom-based practices that will support all students' literacy development. As schools and districts pursue similar aims and navigate similar obstacles, space for reflecting on and sharing practices and navigating challenges can serveas a forum for mutual support.

    We welcome teams of teachers, administrators, instructional coaches, reading specialists, department chairs, and all for whom literacy instruction is integral to join us as leaders of literacy.
