David Mumper, Resource Specialst

Hudson Valley RBERN Resource Specialist David Mumper has worked in the education field for 20+ years. For nearly a decade, he has worked as an administrator, ELA and ESL teacher at the high school level for New York City’s Board of Education. David is responsible for designing and implementing initiatives to ensure equitable educational opportunities for ELL students in 144 New York public school districts and coordinating regional teacher and administrator training in TESOL, literacy, bilingual education, culturally responsive pedagogy, inquiry learning and more. At SWBOCES, he focuses on supporting Hudson Valley school districts to create programmatic and instructional systems to best serve ENL students. David holds a Master’s of Theological Studies degree in Philosophy and Buddhist Studies from Harvard University and a Master’s of Science degree in Education in TESOL from the City College of New York. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Urban Education.
